About Us

This About Us page is to give you some information about the people behind this website - Chaz and Melissa.

I (Chaz) have an associate degree in Solar Energy Technology from Cabrillo College in Aptos, Ca. Besides solar cooking, my interests also include solar water heating, solar space heating and solar electricity (PV).

Melissa has been interested in solar cookers and solar cooking for some time now and is in the process of converting conventional recipes to solar recipes. As a cook of 25 years, Melissa is very familiar with many type of recipes and cuisines.

We are located in the upstate of South Carolina, where we get 200 plus solar cooking days a year, which is great when you consider how much energy we are saving and how much we are able to reduce our carbon footprint.
